Educating Young People and the Poor

The members of the Champagnat Education Council metCouncil Members at Catholic College,Catholic College Sale Sale on 16th and 17th November 2009. There, we discussed the outcomes of the recent Marist General Chapter held in Rome and the goal stressed by the Chapter that we educate young people and the poor. We considered how to approach this in Australia in this period of our history. As a result, we agreed to have our Marist Principals' Meeting for 2010 at Notre Dame College in Shepparton, Victoria. There we will see first hand the initiatives the Principal of the College, Mr Peter White and his staff have taken to respond to this challenge with the young and marginalised people of that area. The Principals' Meeting will be held on Thursday 4th & Friday 5th March, 2010.
