1816  Marcellin is ordained a diocesan priest

         Marists form the Society of Mary at Fourvière

1817  Marcellin founds the Marist Brothers

1824  With the early Brothers, Marcellin builds the Hermitage near St Chamond

1830  Marcellin becomes a Marist priest

1836  Marcellin sends Brothers to Oceania

1840  Marcellin dies

1999  Marcellin Champagnat is canonised a saint
