I enjoyed Jim’s talks on the Rights of Children. They helped to put into context Marcellin’s commitment to young people and those in need to the people of our present time. They challenge us to be more inclusive in our approach to education and they compel us to use any influence that we have, to achieve wider recognition of the needs of disadvantaged groups within our communities and more widely within Australia and the world. The rights of indigenous children within Australia are a matter of urgent need. Steps must be taken to ensure that they are addressed at local and federal level.
