A very happy Easter to you. It is wonderful, at this time, to be able to pause and reflect on the significance of God becoming human and then rising from the dead. The immensity of this event is unfathomable. The beautiful Easter liturgies enhance our reflection and lead us so easily to prayer.
Recently our Superior General Br Emili Turu wrote a letter to all Marists of Champagnat. It expresses so well, the depths we can enjoy through contemplation. It is not always an easy course to take, but when we get there, it is really worth it. Emili will be concluding his term as our international leader in September 2017. We have been blessed through his leadership.
This year, our Australian Marist Province is celebrating its bicentenary. One event which might interest you is a lecture to be given by Dom Mark Patrick Hederman OSB, the abbot of Glenstal Abbey in Ireland. His book Underground Cathedrals shows the depth of his analysis of our Christian history since the time of the Resurrection.
On 22nd September our 22nd General Chapter will commence at the De La Salle Centre in Columbia. The Chapter provides a great opportunity for representatives of all Marists of Champagnat to reflect on the last eight years since the 2009 Chapter and to help chart a way forward. We pray for the Holy Spirit's guidance. Enjoy your Easter season.
