Gathering in Cairns over these days has enlivened my sense of the value of Marists coming together. While much energy is involved in preparing for large gatherings and while significant thought goes into what we say at such a Conference, there is a shared energy which emerges and with which we return home. Perhaps it is the feeling of our moving in a specific direction together, or the experience of our thoughts being honed by our colleagues and friends, or our seeing the spark of the Spirit working amongst us in our conversations and decision making, that inspires us. Such gatherings certainly offer us spiritual refreshment for which I say 'Thanks'.
