In 1973 a small number of Principals of Victorian Catholic Secondary Schools decided to recommend the establishment of a Principals' Association. On Friday 13th September, 2013 three hundred and fifty people came together to celebrate the fortieth anniversary of this robust and much loved Association. Archbishop Denis Hart presided at the celebratory Mass at St Patrick's Cathedral East Melbourne and Dinner followed at the nearby Park Hyatt. Association President Ms Julie Ryan convened a fine array of presentations.
Earlier in the day three of us who had served as Principals in different schools over this forty year period, Sr Helen Toohey, Dr Liam Davison and I were invited to speak to current Principals at their termly meeting about what we would go to the wall over in Catholic Education today. A copy of what I said can be read here.
